 The Birmingham Family has generously created the Birmingham Family Tennis Chair Award. For the next five years beginning in 2006, one athlete per year will be selected to receive a tennis chair. The purpose of the award is to assist a deserving athlete to access the appropriate equipment to meet his/her high performance development needs. The award recipient will be announced at the Birmingham National Wheelchair Tennis Championships. Selections will be made by Tennis Canada’s wheelchair tennis High Performance Committee, and athletes who do not have a tennis chair sponsorships are eligible to apply.
