It’s all about YOUTH. Got a spinal cord injury? How about a resource that’s for youth, by youth – no adults allowed?
Life Interrupted is a new manual for youth with SCI. It’s written by people between the ages of 12 and 21 – people who have been there and done that. People like you. The manual, sponsored by McKesson Canada Inc. and Pfizer Canada, bridges the generation gap while providing plain and practical information for the thousands of youth with SCI. Through a series of personal quotes and stories, Life Interrupted illustrates the experiences of youth, telling their tales about coping with life after SCI. It’s information that matters to youth: rehab and coming home; independence, friends and fitting in; dating, sex and sexuality; challenges and attitudes; and moving out on your own. There’s a special section for parents and siblings too, with first-hand accounts from family members who have supported a loved one through a spinal cord injury. Life Interrupted is available in either English and French. CPA members can get a copy through their provincial offices for free; all others can get it through CPA’s national office for $10.00 (including GST) to cover shipping, handling and future printing costs.
