The comprehensive Life After Spinal Cord Injury resource guide contains everything you need to know about your spinal cord injury.
Originally produced by the Association des paraplégiques du Québec (APQ) for members and clients of CPA, this resource guide available in English, French and Spanish remains popular. It is written in easy-to-understand terms and covers all aspects of spinal cord injury, including health and your return to the community. Simply stated, Life After Spinal Cord Injury is "the source" for information for persons with SCI and their family members, as valuable for those with new injuries as it is for those who have lived with SCI for any length of time. We would like to credit the Association des paraplégiques du Québec (APQ), its staff and friends for the original production of this guidebook, and acknowledge the following organizations for their contributions: Convatech for contributing the Pressure Sore Drawings on pages 34-35 and the Paralyzed Veterans of America the Pressure Sore Drawings appearing on page 24, from the guide: Yes, You Can! A Guide to Self-Care for Persons with Spinal Cord Injury. Our thanks go out to Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec, Régie régionale de la santé et des services sociaux de Montréal-Centre, Rick Hansen - Man in Motion Foundation, Human Resources Development Canada. Additional thanks to Pfizer Canada for the educational grant which made the publication of the 2002 edition possible. While all attempts have been made to be accurate and complete, because of rapid advancements in research, medicine and technology, we make no assurances as to the accuracy, currency or completeness of this manual. Neither the Association des paraplégiques du Québec (APQ) nor the Canadian Paraplegic Association shall be liable for errors or any consequences arising from the use of information published herein.
