| Bell Canada Peer Scholarship Winner Announced | | | The Canadian Paraplegic Association is pleased to announce the successful recipient of the Bell Canada Peer Scholarship valued at $2,500. The Awards Committee is very grateful to Bell Canada Enterprises for supporting this student and we are delighted to provide a brief overview of the recipient.Nancy Xia (Scarborough, Ontario) - In June 2003, Nancy was involved in an accident that left her in a wheelchair for life. She is passionate about psychological abnormality and decided to pursue a career as a rehab psychologist. Nancy is presently a 3rd year student in Psychology and Health Studies at the University of Toronto. She is open to sharing her experiences with her class mates in order to help those who require assistance. Nancy wants to contribute to the world by telling her story and educating people on mental illnesses. She fully understands the experience of both depression and spinal cord injury therefore she truly believes that her career path will be beneficial to all. Nancy is truly committed to helping people affect by depression or a spinal cord injury. The recipient of the Bell Canada Peer Scholarship is an extremely worthy person who is most deserving of an opportunity to receive assistance with her educational pursuits.
