| 2006 Copnick-Hilliard Scholarship Recipient | | | | The Canadian Paraplegic Association is pleased to announce the successful recipient of the Copnick Hilliard Scholarship valued at $500. The Awards Committee is very grateful to Copnick Hilliard for supporting this student and we are delighted to provide a brief overview of the recipient. Gilles St-Pierre (St-Léolin, New Brunswick) – Gilles was involved in a motorcycle accident in 1985 and suffered a spinal cord injury which left him in a wheelchair for life. He received a degree in industrial design from the “Céjep du Vieux Montréal” in 1990. He is presently enrolled in information technology at the New Brunswick Community College. His career goal is to work in a service or repair centre. Gilles is dedicated to his studies and is very keen on achieving results. He is personable and has great ability to establish lasting relationships. He is open to sharing his experiences with his class mates in order to help those who may need assistance. Gilles objective is to participate fully in society. The recipient of the Copnick Hilliard Scholarship is an extremely worthy person who is most deserving of an opportunity to receive assistance with her educational pursuits. Copnick Hilliard can be very proud of their investment in the Canadian Paraplegic Association’s Scholarship Program.
