Quadreplegic elected to BC Legislature

The priliminary election results for BC are in and BC Paraplegic Association's own Stephanie Cadieux was voted in for the riding of Surrey-Panorama. (Official election results will be finalized on May 27 once the final count is complete.) Stephanie, who experienced a C5 spinal cord injury as a result of a motor vehicle accident in 1991 became increasingly engaged with politcs as she observed the relationship of various levels of government with the charitable sector.

As expressed by Senator Larry Campbell when he rose to speak in the Senate on May 7th to acknowledge SCI/CPA Awareness Month, Stephanie Cadieux is raising awareness in the political world. As part of the national Awareness campaign, BCPA has selected Stephanie to be recognized as this year’s inspirational role model. To read more about Stephanie and her achievements, pick up a copy of the most recent total access magazine.
